U.S. Government Announces Plan to Cover Expenses for COVID-19 Treatment if a Patient is Uninsured
Times are difficult for Americans now, especially for those who are currently unemployed and do not have health insurance. Under the CARES Act, if a person does not have health insurance and they have been treated for COVID-19 on or after February 4, 2020, the medical providers can submit their bills directly to the government for reimbursement and the uninsured patient will not be liable for the costs.
The Health and Human Services Secretary has encouraged uninsured persons to get treatment for COVID-19: “This says if you don’t have insurance, go get taken care of — we have you covered.”
Giroux Pappas Trial Attorneys are open and we are continuing to work during this pandemic. If you have a legal issue that you would like to discuss, please call our office for a free consultation.
