It is with great pride and joy that we announce Mx. Linden De Leeuw has been selected as the Exceptional Educator for February 2025! Mx. De Leeuw, an esteemed orchestra teacher at Ferndale High School, Middle School, and Upper Elementary, has been recognized for their outstanding dedication to music education and their unparalleled commitment to their students. In honor of this well-deserved recognition, Giroux Pappas has generously donated $1000 to Ferndale High School.

Mx. De Leeuw (pronounced Mix Dee-lay-oo) is known for their remarkable ability to inspire and nurture young musicians. Their passion for teaching orchestra is evident in every class, where they create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students. Mx. De Leeuw’s teaching philosophy centers around the belief that every student has the potential to excel. They tirelessly encourage their students to push their limits, not because they aren’t playing well, but because they recognize their students’ ability to achieve greatness.

Giroux Pappas launched the program in January 2022 to give back to the community it serves and has recognized and donated to a teacher each month.
